CR Board of Trustees Concludes Superintendent Search Without Appointment
Published on Sep 15 2026The Board of Trustees for the Redwoods Community College District announced today that, following careful consideration of the finalists for the position of President/Superintendent, the Board has concluded the current search process without making an appointment.
The Board appreciates the time, commitment, and professionalism demonstrated by each of the finalists throughout the selection process. The Board also extends its sincere appreciation to the members of the search committee, college employees, students, community members, and other who participated in the process and provided valuable input.
“The selection of a college president is one of the Board’s most important responsibilities,” said Board President Carol Mattews. “After thoughtful deliberation, the Board determined that it is in the best interest of the College to conclude the current search without making an appointment. We are grateful to the finalists and to everyone who contributed their time and perspectives to this important process.”
The Board remains committed to identifying a President/Superintendent who will provide strong leadership, advance the College’s mission and strategic priorities, support student success, and effectively serve the College and the communities it represents.
Dr. Keith Flamer will continue to serve as the President/Superintendent. The Board has offered to extend his contract through June 30, 2027 while the Board determines the next steps and timeline for the President/Superintendent search. The Board will consider approval of the contract extension at its October 6, 2027 meeting. Additional information regarding the process will be shared with the College community and the public as it becomes available.
